On Friday, July 10, 2009 members at Bay Area Hospital had the opportunity to vote on changing their health & welfare benefits. The membership voted outspokenly to switch from Joint Labor Management Retail Trust to the Portland Area Employee Health Trust. This switch came about last week as the Bay Area Hospital and Union Officials came together to discuss a solution to the current health & welfare problems being experienced in JLMRT. Understanding the need to find a solution to protect the workers, the Hospital agreed that if they members wanted to switch plans they would make that change. The spirit of cooperation helps everyone and shows the importance of doing the right thing.
