Rina has been employed with UFCW Local 555 since October 1988.  She is working in the Membership Records Department, handling members’ accounts.  Her main responsibility is payroll deduction. Payroll deduction is a payment plan which authorizes the union to bill the employer for the members’ dues or initiation fee, which is then deducted directly from their paycheck.

Rina escaped with her family from the war in Cambodia and arrived in La Grande in late 1980.  In early 1984 her family decided to move to Beaverton.  On September 19, 1994 she was sworn in as a proud citizen of the United States of America.  Rina has been married for nine years and has two beautiful little girls, who keep her very busy.  She loves being a mom and finds it very challenging, just like her job.  Rina loves to assist members with any dues questions they might have, so next time you call the dues department, you might get to talk to Rina at the other end.
