Kay Nelson began her Union background in 1979 at Rockwood Fred Meyer, on the Non-Food side. In, October 1984 Kay went to work for Local 1092 Retail Clerks Union, one of the Five Local Unions that merged to form UFCW Local 555 in July 1985. Kay has also worked for the Carpenters Union, the Machinists Union and the Bakers Union in a variety of office positions.
In 1985, Kay was hired on at UFCW Local 555 full-time. Kay has worked for Local 555 as a payroll clerk, a record’s clerk, A senior office clerk, office supervisor, and since May 2000, as a Union Representative. Kay’s route assignment is from Florence to Brookings Oregon, one of the most beautiful and scenic routes in Oregon. Kay is married to a Super Person, has two beautiful daughters, and three very special Grandchildren. In her spare time she likes to bowl and enjoys many arts & crafts.
